Diagnostic tests and cholesterol


Cholesterol is a fatty substance has an important role in the cell membrane and the components that make up a number of hormones. When too much cholesterol in the blood, it can form the deposition of fat clogs arteries, increasing the risk of heart attack and stroke.

Blood tests check cholesterol levels
- Total cholesterol: ≥ 240mg / dL.
- LDL cholesterol: ≥ 160 mg / dL.
- HDL cholesterol: ≤ 40 mg / dL.
- Triglycerides: ≥ 200 mg / dL
For accurate results, do not eat or drink anything (except water) for 9-12 hours before blood sampling.
